Winner of Campus Design Competition 2020

The University of Auckland's Campus Store introduced "Design A Tee" back in 2016, inviting students to unleash their creativity by submitting designs for exclusive t-shirts. This annual competition, now a staple event, welcomes entries from all current students, both in-store and online.
This year's theme, "Diversity," prompted me to reflect on my own university journey. Surrounded by a diverse range of cultures, perspectives, and ideas, I aimed to capture the dynamic spirit of my campus and flatting experiences. Each stroke of my design represents the rich diversity I encountered daily.
The vibrant hues and varied textures symbolise the ethnicities and backgrounds that enrich our university community. Through bold expressions and subtle nuances, I sought to celebrate the unique qualities that make us all individuals while weaving us together as one cohesive whole.
"Be the change" serves as both a mantra and a call to action. As I navigate my academic journey, I am reminded of the transformative power of innovation and leadership. This phrase encapsulates my aspirations to drive positive change in the world of design and encourages my fellow students to do the same.
